Christian Cuevas had Christ-followers everywhere rejoicing over his performance on NBC’s singing competition, “The Voice.”
Though he didn’t make the final four, his rendition of the worship anthem “To Worship You I Live,” popularized by Israel Houghton and New Breed, is sure to make a lasting impression.
The Orlando, Florida singer, who was selected by Alicia Keys to be part of her team, was backed by a white-robed chorus as he glorified God on stage before millions.
Cuevas’ “To Worship You I Live” went to No. 6 on the top 100 iTunes songs chart.
“I felt God placed me here,” said Cuevas, who was praised by popular Bible teacher and New York Times best-selling author Priscilla Shirer for acknowledging his faith through song so publicly.
“Bravo,” wrote Shirer on Twitter. “Chills. Thx for lifting Jesus w/o apology on #NBCTheVoice!” She then added, “"I am not ashamed of the gospel...." referencing Romans 1:16.
After the elimination, Cuevas took to Facebook live to tell his 2.5 million followers, “I’m good. I’m okay. Don’t worry. It’s not the end of the world.”
He also noted how happy he was that, with his last song on the competition, he “could worship with America."
