While there’s nothing at all wrong with showing off your fashionable side and enhancing the natural beauty God has given you with make up and snazzy threads, if you look put together outwardly, while you’re all broken down inwardly, that’s no good.
Real beauty is realized from the inside out. So Praisejamzblog is giving you a unique tips for a spiritual beauty makeover.

See yourself through God's eyes.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)
You have been handcrafted by the finest designer of all—God. You were not created to focus on superficial things, but rather, “to do good works” and fulfill your purpose on earth. So then, seeing yourself through God’s eyes is to zone in on your divine design—your reason the Master placed you here.
Surely this is easier said than done because, as women, we often use society’s secular perspective as the measuring stick to quantify our worth. If we don’t fit the typical mold or body type that the majority calls beautiful, we can begin feeling less-than. But don’t fall into that trap. Focusing on the outside is a distraction from the real point of your existence.
External things are not the essence of real beauty.
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.” (1 Peter 3:3 NIV)
I am a shoe lover. I don’t discriminate. I enjoy wearing heels, flats, wedges—all types and styles. I admire a well put together outfit, hairstyle and makeup job just as much as the next person. However, the Bible says “outward adornment” is not the essence of beauty.
It is what is inside that shines brightest. The purity of our heart, gentleness of our spirit, and genuineness of our commitment to Christ are the loveliest qualities we could ever possess. How fascinating that our best features are hidden within!
Beauty begins with what you take off, not what you put on.
“…Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires” (Ephesians 4:22 NV)
My sister loves watching TLC’s “What Not To Wear.” She says she’s fascinated by all the tricks of the trade. There aren’t very many people I know who haven’t, at least once, been glued to the television, mesmerized by the before and after results on makeover shows.
But, more important than makeovers, make-unders are in. Instead of putting on new threads, we are stripping off the old stuff that weighs us down and keeps us hindered. Old, incorrect, worldly views of beauty are being taken off, so we can be free.
Meditate on God's word.
“But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.” (Psalm 1:2 NLT)
Statistics show that fashion and beauty magazines still manage to thrive, even in a down economy, by advertising products for the billion dollar beauty industry. Millions of women purchase the glossies hoping to get stellar tips to transform this, shrink that, and “sexify” that.
What if as much or more time was spent meditating on the Scriptures, as is used pouring over the pages of publications catering to the superficial? The percentage of girls and women battling low self-esteem, eating disorders and depression would decrease.
So prioritize the word of God. Give it first place in your life, so you will know who you are.
Erase every lie about beauty.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6 NIV)
I didn’t really learn about the truth of African-American history until I went to college. I had a professor of who encouraged us to dig deep, do our research, and move beyond the assigned materials to get
information about the way our great country was founded. I learned all the ways Africans were stripped of their identity and taught to hate themselves.
That self-hatred continues among many today. To discover your history is to discover your beauty by erasing every lie and replacing it with the truth. We ultimately know that real truth is found in the person of Jesus Christ, who will show us, no matter what the world tries to make us believe, that we are loved, valued and created in God’s image.
Get new clothes--the spiritual kind.
Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. (Romans 13:14 NIV)
Once you have stripped down and gotten rid of everything unlike God, there’s something far better than putting on that swagged out, extra fly—or “cold-blooded,” depending upon the era you were born—attire. Put on Jesus Christ. Wear grace and truth as your garments, and know this: “For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” (Psalm 149:4 KJV)
