Are You Having Hard Time Believing? Here Are Five (5) Scriptures to Help Strengthen and Exercise Your Faith || Read For Free

Here’s a hard truth: many of us claim to have faith in God when we don’t. Maybe we did, once upon a time, before we found ourselves in debt. Before we got that illness. Before anything troubling occurred in our lives. We read about God’s ability to work miracles, but we don’t believe that He’ll work a miracle for us.

We read that through Him we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), yet when the enemy strikes, we live as though we’ve been defeated. If you’re letting the weight of the world bring you down, here are 5 scriptures you need to read to help you strengthen and exercise your faith:

Matthew 8:26 (ESV)- “And he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?’ Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” Like the disciples, we often respond in fear when storms arise in our lives, and cry out for God to save us. There is nothing wrong with presenting our troubles to God, but it is rather how we present them that matters. The disciples came to Jesus declaring, “We’re going to drown!” Emphasis on going to, as if there was no doubt in their mind that they would not make it. We must come to God in great faith, saying, “Lord, the storm is raging all around me, but I know you are greater than the storm. I thank you that you have already delivered me from what rose up to drown me.”

Galatians 2:20 (NIV)-
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Christ died that we might live abundantly (John 10:10), full of peace and joy. But in order for us to live our lives the way the Lord intended, we must put our faith in Him, His Word, and His promises. The side of us that gives in to sin, worry, doubt and fear was crucified with Christ, so don’t resurrect it.

John 7:38 (NKJV)-
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” When you put your faith and trust in Christ, you will be filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness (Galatians 5:22). Not only that, you will be able to pour out some of the goodness you have received on others who may need it (2 Corinthians 1:4).

Matthew 17:20 (NLT)-
“‘You don’t have enough faith,’ Jesus told them. ‘I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move fromhere to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Your faith may start small, but as long as it is genuine, it will amount to much. Great things can be accomplished when you put your faith in God. So trust the One who holds your life in His hands; He will movemountains for you if you simply believe.

1 John 5:4 (ESV)-
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” No matter what obstacles the enemy has placed in your way, if you have faith, you have already overcome them. As long as you believe, you are free.

Don’t be afraid. Be courageous, knowing that the Lord has a good plan for your future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Remember Romans 15:13, which says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
