Though God has blessed all of us with talents, we don’t always feel like we know what to do with these gifts.
But if the creator of all things has embedded these wonderful abilities, as well as dreams, within you—and He definitely has—He will give you the courage, strategy and all you need to successfully manifest them to the world.

Here are 5 things to remember that will boost your confidence in what the Holy Spirit has already implanted within you.
It is Him working through you. Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” I love this verse because it is a much-needed reminder in times of doubt that, first of all, your gift does not come from you. It comes from God working through you. He is the giver of not only the dream, but the desire to fulfill it. The same one who gave you the vision, will give you the drive to see it through and also, the ability to carry it out.
It is not your adequacy, but His sufficiency that matters. We often quote Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” it's a powerful scripture, but the question is, do you believe it? You must truly have faith that it is indeed the Lord working through your talents and members to fulfill His purposes. Put your gifts to use knowing that where you are deficient, God is sufficient. When you feel inadequate, or as though you don’t have the power to do anything, that’s understandable. We all feel that way sometimes. Thankfully, you nor I is expected to rely on ourselves. What a load off! The Lord is our strength. He has given us all we need to do what He has asked of us.
The Lord expects you to do something with what He gave you. Don’t be the servant who was entrusted one talent in Matthew 25:14-30 and buried it. In this parable, the master gave three different servants different levels of talent or wealth. Though what they received wasn’t equal, the giver had an equal expectation of all three recipients. He expected each of them to use what they had to yield him a return. Two of them did. One didn’t and the master was angry. Are you burying your talent or using it? If you’ve been hiding it, dig it up. You owe it to God to give Him a return on the investment He has made it in you. My point is, the Lord gave you that gift so that you might benefit the world with it. Don’t be ashamed, or feel as though your talent is not good enough. God takes great joy in our gifting and wishes to see us use our talents for the glorification of His name.
You are a source of inspiration to others. The Lord has blessed you so you may be a blessing to someone else. When you let your talents be seen and you shine for His glory, you will inspire and encourage others to do the same. But how can you bless someone if you’re hiding? Matthew 5:15 makes a great point: “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” Lights are made to shine, not be covered. Whether it is wisdom-filled advice God placed in you; a beautiful song He moved you to write; a graceful dance He empowered you to perform; or the eloquent book or poem He helped you express, uncover it. Let it shine through. Your gifting is significant and the Lord can use it to touch, and inspire people around the world! Just start using it and see what He does with it.
Expressing your talents can lead others to Christ. This is the most important thing to think about. As a disciple of Christ, you are on assignment in the earth to lead lost souls to Christ. One of the ways you fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:16-20, which is to make disciples, is by letting your light shine. Matthew 5:16 (ESV) says “…Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” The way you love others, help those in need, declare the gospel, and put your gifts to work in the spirit of excellence, all work in tandem to make you a great witness for the Lord. In part, your gift is your witness. Through it, God’s light will shine. Others will be impacted and drawn to God, who is the giver of every perfect gift, according to James 1:17.
