A recent breakfast conversation left gospel songwriter Kirk Franklin weeping and expressing sincere gratitude.
The “Wanna Be Happy?” singer broke bread with Canadian-American Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias, a man whose life is committed to defending the Christian faith.
“His mind game on answering and teaching on the most difficult and controversial subjects of the Bible on an academic level are beyond amazing,” raved Franklin in an Instagram photo caption, showing the two posing together.
The Atlanta-based Ravi Zacharias Ministries founder is known around the world for taking on and answering challenging questions typically used to discredit the Bible, and stir doubt in believers.
His timeless and biblically-sound wisdom has both converted non-believers and strengthened the faith of Christ’s disciples globally.
“I've been a fan of his for years, and was blessed to have breakfast with him today in Atlanta. I couldn't stop crying as I asked difficult questions about the Bible, injustice, science, death, and heaven,” continued Franklin, 46.
Zacharias, 70, is a frequent conference speaker who has made delivering in-depth insights on biblical truths his life’s mission.

From Franklin’s reaction, the potency of the India-born leader’s ministry is strong as ever.
“I'm crying as I'm writing even now,” said the overwhelmed multiple GRAMMY® Award-winner.
“The world has been so bad lately I needed some hope. Not just emotion, but some solid scholarly hope that our journey will end the way the Bible says it will end...With us victorious, and our names written in the book of life,” he said.
Apparently, the Fo Yo Soul Recordings CEO isn’t the only one that enjoyed the conversation.
In a companion post, Zacharias called his breakfast with Franklin “wonderful and inspiring,” noting that the platinum-selling gospel icon is “a man with a tender heart for God and people, and an amazing impact globally in song and lyrics.”
The defender of traditional evangelicalism and author of many books ended his message warmly, writing, “God bless you dear Kirk and give you your best years ahead. Thank you for your friendship.”
Franklin summarized the deeply impactful encounter in three words: “Best day ever.”
