God, I Need Details! 6 Scriptures to Help the Planner And Over-thinker Walk by Faith || Read For Free

Many of us claim to trust the Lord while trying to be the backseat driver in our lives. We want to know where we’re going, why we’re going, how we’ll get there and when we’ll arrive.

The only problem with being a know-it-all is that it eliminates the element of trust in our relationship with God. We don’t need to hope and believe in what we already see.

Faith is blind; that sentence alone is a nightmare for a planner, because you can’t prepare for what you can’t see. But you don’t have to have all the details if you place full confidence in the One responsible for taking care of you.

If you know you need help trusting in the Lord to get you ready for wherever He’s about to take you, here are 6 scriptures to remember:

1.) Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” God loves to exceed our expectations and throw us curveballs that will wreck our plans, but that will also place us right in the middle of His will. So rather than trying to figure out all the curves in the road, let the One who’s got it all figured out lead you.

2.) Read Matthew 6:25-34- Don’t Worry. You’ll drive yourself to insanity trying to make an educated guess about what the Lord is going to do in your life. You’ll frustrate yourself trying to understand how He’s going to fulfill a promise He made to you that seems improbable. All you need to know is that if He said He’ll take you there, it’s as good as done.

3.) Psalm 55:22 (ESV)- “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Instead of concerning yourself with every little detail you can imagine, give your cares to the Lord. All He asked you to do is walk the path He’s directing you on. Let Him pave the way.

4.) Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)- “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” The next time you pray, ask the Lord to strengthen your trust in Him, then sit back and relax as He leads you into your destiny. That’s it. Don’t ask for all the answers. As you complete your daily tasks and work on what you can, just believe that the Lord knows what He’s doing. He would never lead you astray.

5.) Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)- “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.” You can’t control your life, so stop trying. No matter what you plan for and how much you prepare, God’s way will ultimately win out. God is infinite, as is His wisdom; His plan for your life is much too large to fit inside the box you’ve been attempting to force it into.

6.) Psalm 84:12 (NKJV)- “O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!” Trust in the Lord is a blessed thing. When you fully place faith in the Lord, your mind will be steady and you will have a peace about you. When you give all the cares and concerns of your life over to Him, you will feel light and unburdened.

Don’t let all those pennies in your purse rhat say "In God We Trust" be made into liars; trust the Lord, not your intellect, or your knowledge, or your plans. If you are willing to be led by the Spirit, you will be doing greater things than you ever imagined.
