Christian Quarterback Russell Wilson Worshiped God Before Helping His Team Become Division Champs Thursday

On Sunday, Christian Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson played his worst game ever. But that didn’t stop him from publicly worshiping God before his big comeback Thursday.

“You move mountains! I will forever praise your name,” tweeted the 28-year-old before helping his team become NFC West Division champs with their 24-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

With the hash tag #GratefulHeart, the unashamed Believer expressed his attitude of gratitude—something he has talked about before.

In a recent interview with Complex, the elite-level athlete said, “Before a game, I’m always listening to gospel music. I’m just so grateful on game day” ... even when things aren’t going well.

Despite sports commentators and fans speculating over whether or not the husband of R&B singer Ciara and dad-to-be would be able to rebound from such a tough loss, Wilson pulled it together.

Adorned in Nike’s Color Rush uniforms Thursday, which the brand first introduced in 2015, Wilson completed 19 of 26 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

"It's a big deal to be NFC West champs," Wilson said in a post-game interview. "It's not easy to do. ...It's something that really matters and something that we cherish, to be able to win enough and to be able to do what we're doing."

Wilson's Bible verse of the day for Thursday was, "“You know the way to the place where I am going," found in John 14:4 NIV.

He was going straight for the win.
